Supported at a single point, this marble table – “Buildiniture” – takes on the challenge of overturning the perceived weight of stone. Marble offers rich, natural veining, yet because it is heavy and relatively soft it is rarely used as the only material and structure of a piece of furniture.

The stone's almost complete lack of elasticity became the starting point. The designers imagined a tabletop stretching outward from one support, its thickness following the change of shear force along the cantilever, while an enlarged base anchors the whole system. The finished table is very stable, yet it looks light and approachable.

The 1 × 1.6 m top is CNC-carved in 3D from a single block of Universe Grey marble and tapers to just 15 mm at its edge; the base is carved by stone craftsmen from one solid piece. The table was made with Beijing Tiancheng Yingliang Stone Co. and later received a UN Design Award Gold Prize in the furniture category.

一点支撑的石桌，挑战在于如何颠覆大理石的重量感。大理石虽然肌理丰富自然，但自重大、硬度较低，并不适合以单一材料和结构出现在家具中。

石材几乎没有弹性的特征反而带来启发：设计师构想了一个由一点支撑、向外伸展的桌面，桌面厚度顺应悬挑过程中剪切力的变化，加上底部放大的桌脚，形成稳定的受力体系。最终的桌子十分稳定，看上去却轻盈而带有亲切感。

桌面1m×1.6m，由整块宇宙灰大理石3D雕刻而成，边缘厚度仅15mm；桌腿由石雕匠人以整石雕刻。石桌由北京天成英良石材有限责任公司制作，获美国UN设计奖家具类金奖。
